  • Visa Request Form (RER): You must fill out the form online, upload all documents, and then print the RER Receipt (one page) which must be signed and have your photo glued to it.

  • Photographs: 2 recent photos, 2 x 2 inches (standard square size), white background, matte finish.

  • Cover Letter: A formal letter detailing your travel dates, purpose, and itinerary.

  • Financial Proof (Mandatory):

    • Bank Statements: Original stamped/signed statements for the last 3 to 6 months.

    • ITR: Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years.

    • Minimum Balance: A recommended balance of ₹1.5 Lakhs to ₹2 Lakhs to show you can support yourself without working locally.

  • Travel Itinerary: Confirmed round-trip flight tickets and hotel bookings.

  • Yellow Fever Certificate: While not always asked for at Brazilian immigration, it is mandatory for re-entry into India if you have visited Brazil. You must get this at least 10 days before your trip.

  • New 10-Year Validity: The new rule allows you to hold a single visa for 10 years, allowing stays of up to 90 days per visit for tourists.

  • VFS Global: Brazil has shifted much of its processing to VFS Global in India. You must book an appointment to submit your physical documents and passport.

  • Business vs. Tourism: If you are traveling for a meeting or a conference, you must apply for a Business Visa (VITEM II). Using a Tourist Visa for business meetings is technically not permitted and can lead to entry issues.

  • Minor Applicants: Brazil is extremely strict about children. If a minor is traveling with only one parent (or neither), a notarized authorization form signed by both parents is strictly required.
