FAQ's
Can I apply for an Jordan visa online?

Partially. You can fill the application form online and book appointments through Visa lounge website https://visalounge.in/ .

Is the Jordan Pass actually a visa?

  • No. The Jordan Pass is a sightseeing package. However, it waives the visa fee (approx. ₹4,800) if you purchase it before arrival and stay in Jordan for at least 3 consecutive nights. You still get your entry stamp at the “Visa on Arrival” counter, but you show the Pass instead of paying cash.

2. What is the new “90-Day Rule” for 2026?

  • Major Update: As of January 12, 2026, Jordan has increased the standard tourist stay duration. Whether you arrive with an e-Visa or get a Visa on Arrival, you are now automatically granted a 90-day stay (up from the previous 30 days) at no extra cost.

3. Can I get a Visa on Arrival at all borders?

  • Mostly. You can get it at Queen Alia International Airport (Amman) and most land borders.

  • Exception: You cannot get a Visa on Arrival at the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge border crossing (the crossing from the West Bank/Israel). For that specific entry, you must have a pre-approved e-Visa or Jordan Pass.

4. How much is the Visa fee if I don’t have a Jordan Pass?

  • Single Entry: 40 JOD (approx. ₹4,800).

  • Double Entry: 60 JOD (approx. ₹7,200).

  • Multiple Entry (6 Months): 120 JOD (approx. ₹14,400).

5. Do I need to carry cash for the visa fee at the airport?

  • Yes, it’s recommended. While many counters now accept credit cards, the system can occasionally be down. Carrying 40 JOD in cash (or USD/EUR) per person is the safest way to avoid delays.

6. Is there a mandatory digital form for 2026?

  • Yes. You must complete the Declaration Form at gateway2jordan.gov.jo before you fly. You will receive a QR code that is mandatory for boarding your flight and for entry at immig

7. Is Petra included in the Jordan Pass?

  • Yes. Depending on the version you buy (Wanderer, Explorer, or Expert), you get 1, 2, or 3 days of entry to Petra. Considering a single-day entry to Petra alone costs 50 JOD (~₹6,000), the Jordan Pass pays for itself instantly.

8. Do I need a yellow fever certificate?

  • Only if you are arriving from a yellow fever-endemic country. For travelers flying directly from India, it is generally not required.

9. Can I extend my visa once I’m in Jordan?

  • Since the new 2026 rule gives you 90 days upfront, extensions are rarely needed for tourists. If you need to stay longer than 3 months, you must visit a local police station (Residence department) before your 90 days expire.

10. What is the “Jordanian Guide” rule?

  • If you are a group of 5 or more people, Jordanian law requires you to be accompanied by a licensed Jordanian tour guide to be eligible for certain group visa fee waivers.
