• Proof of Funds: You may be asked to show you have at least 10,000 THB (~₹24,000) per person or 20,000 THB (~₹48,000) per family in cash or equivalent.

• The 60-Day Rule: You are now allowed to stay for 60 days visa-free (upgraded from 30 days).

• Extension: If 60 days aren’t enough, you can extend your stay by another 30 days at any local Thai Immigration office for a fee of 1,900 THB.

• The “DTV” for Digital Nomads: If you’re a freelancer or remote worker, 2026 introduces the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), allowing a stay of up to 180 days for those who want to “Work from Thai.”

• Cannabis Regulations (2026 Update): Thailand has tightened its laws. Use is now strictly restricted to medical and health purposes. Public recreational use can lead to heavy fines or imprisonment.
