Italy visa for indians

 This document checklist is standard but not exhaustive. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents based on specific use cases.

Passport

• Original passport issued within 10 years
• Valid for 6 months beyond the last intended date of departure from Italy
• Should contain at least 2 blank visa pages
• Should have no alteration or handwritten amendments in the data pages

Photograph

• Three recent colored passport size photographs (35 mm wide by 45 mm high without border) and taken within the last 3 months
• The facial image must be between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown
• Taken against a plain white background with matt or semi-matt finish
• Please note that scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted

Accommodation

• Applicant must provide one of the accommodation proof :
• Holding confirmed Hotel Voucher
• Cruise Confirmation Voucher
• In case staying with friend’s or relative’s place then invitation letter with invitee Id proof, passport or residence card copy along with their financial documents (email with colored scan copies will work)

Flight Ticket

• Confirmed flight reservation (India to onward and Return)

Itinerary

• Day wise itinerary which gives information about your travel plans on plain A4 size paper or else if booked through travel agent then on their letterhead

Travel Insurance

• Travel insurance is mandatory with coverage of minimum 30,000 Euros or 50,000 USD / person
• All expenses which include repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention or emergency medical treatment in hospital
• The insurance should cover the entire stay in the territory of Schengen
• Applicants applying for a period of 6 months or one-year multiple-entry visas are not entitled to provide 180/365 day coverage. Submitting an insurance policy that covers the first journey is sufficient

Proof of sufficient funds for undertaking travel

• Applicant needs to provide last 6 months bank statement signed and attested by a bank official in case the applicant is employed else need to provide bank statement of the person sponsoring your trip
• All bank statements must be dated within the last 1 week

ITR

• Income tax return assessment for the last 3 years in case the applicant is employed else need to provide income tax return of the person sponsoring your trip

Cover Letter

• A Covering letter from the Applicant on A4 Size Paper (if Employed) or else on Business Letterhead (if Self Employed)

Employment letter

• Employment letter on official company letterhead, stamped and dated; containing contact information (address, email, telephone number) as well as name, position and signature of the countersigning officer
• The letter must state the name and position of the applicant, salary, years of employment and approval of absence/position after returning

NOC

• NOC from School / Institute along with Xerox of ID card (in case of student / minor)

GST Copy

• If Self Employed then applicant need to provide a GST Copy

Leave letter

• Leave letter from the company along with a copy of Employment ID Card (if employed)

Biometric

• Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa for the first time will have to appear in person in order to provide biometric data
• Children under the age of 12 are exempted from this requirement. visa lounge gurgao will book a convenient appointment for biometrics data and visa application submission, at the appointed visa application center
• Previously submitted biometric data (after 2nd November 2015) is valid for travel to any Schengen country for 59 months from the date of submission
• In some unique situations, some member country may ask for re-submission of biometric data if they deem necessary

If multiple countries in a Schengen area are to be visited then Italy must be the country with the maximum duration of stay or if all the stays at the Schengen countries are same, then it must be the first country at the port of entry in the Schengen area

In addition to the documents mentioned, our visa experts or the concerned embassy may require you to furnish additional documents to process your visa.Your cooperation in furnishing any such additional documents is essential for a positive outcome

To ensure your visa is processed in time, submit your application at least 4-6 weeks before your intended travel date, especially if travelling during busy periods.

If you enter Italy on January 1, you can stay until March 30, after which you must leave and wait another 90 days before re-entering.

To avoid complications, ensure all your supporting documents align with the passport you’re using for the visa application.

The Italy visa fees for Indians are, for Adults: €90, for Children (6-12 years): €45, and for Children under 6 years: Free of cost.

The Italy visa processing time for Indians typically takes 15 working days from the receipt of a complete application.

However, this timeframe may be extended if the interview is required, additional documentation requests, or increased application volumes during peak travel seasons.

• It should cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit in the Schengen Area.

• The travel insurance should cover any expenses that might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment, or death during the stay(s) on the territory of the Member States.
