Important Information
Remote Work Allowed: In a major policy shift for 2026, New Zealand now officially allows Visitor Visa holders to work remotely for an overseas employer for up to 90 days while holidaying. You do not need a work visa as long as your employer is not based in NZ.
Parent Boost Visitor Visa: A new category launched in late 2025/early 2026 for parents of NZ citizens/residents, allowing them to stay for up to 3 years with multiple entries to visit family.
Increased International Visitor Levy (IVL): As of late 2025, the IVL has increased. Most visitors now pay NZD 100 (~₹5,100) toward conservation and tourism infrastructure, which is collected at the time of your visa application.
